Eight new cases found in state quarantine

There were eight new Covid-19 cases over a 24-hour period, Dr Panprapa Yongtrakul, deputy spokeswoman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said on Sunday (June 7).

All the cases were returnees from abroad in state quarantine, and there had been no domestic cases for 13 days, she said.
The total number of Covid-19 patients remains at 3,112 since the outbreak -- 2444 domestic cases and 668 people coming from overseas.
Of the new cases, five (four female and one male) had returned from the United Arab Emirates and were in state quarantine in Bangkok, two men had returned from Kuwait and were under medical care in Samut Prakarn. A 52-year-old man, who returned from India, was found to be coughing and having fever at the airport’s screening booth. He was later admited to a hospital in Samut Prakarn.
Meanwhile, only one patient fully recovered and returned home on Saturday.
As of June 7, the total number of confirmed cases in the country stood at 3,112 -- 82 are under treatment, 2,972 have recovered and been discharged, and there have been 58 deaths.
Globally, the total number has increased to 6.9 million confirmed cases, increasing by 130,000, and almost 400,000 deaths. Thailand ranked 81st among countries with the most number of cases.
