Thundershowers forecast for most of Thailand
Most of the country will experience thundershowers, with isolated heavy to very heavy rains, the Meteorological Department forecast today (June 15), as the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and Thailand.
Heavy to very heavy rains will hit some areas in the North, the Northeast, the East and the South’s west coast. People in risky areas should beware of the severe conditions that may cause flash floods, the department warned.
Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
Northern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the area and isolated heavy to very heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees and highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the area and isolated heavy to very heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees and highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 35-37 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy to very rains; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 31-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 2 metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 2 metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (west coast): Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy to very heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 31-33 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high and 2 metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius.
