A 37-year-old passenger of a garbage truck was injured and had to be cut free after the truck collided with a bus in heavy rain early this morning near Phahonyothin 61.

Police are examining surveillance cameras to conclude who was in the wrong.

At 4am, Bang Khen police were notified of the accident and rushed to the scene. Officers found the garbage truck, belonging to the Bang Khen district office, with a broken front window. The vehicle had crashed into a bus.

Volunteers had to use metal-cutting equipment to free the trapped passenger from the truck. As the man was injured, he was sent to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital.

The truck driver said he slammed on the brakes when the bus in front of him stopped to pick up passengers. However, his truck skidded on the wet road and into the bus in the heavy rain.
