Thundershowers, isolated heavy rains forecast for most of Thailand

Keep your umbrella at hand: thundershowers and isolated heavy rains are expected across the country, the Meteorological Department said today (June 16) as the southwest monsoon prevails over the Andaman Sea and Thailand.

People should beware of the severe conditions that could cause flash floods, it warned.

Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
Northern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees and highs of 32-35 degrees Celsius.
Northeastern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees and highs of 31-33 degrees Celsius.
Central region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 22-25 degrees, highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius.
Eastern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 30-33 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 2 metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 2 metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (west coast): Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 30-33 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high and 2 metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 30-33 degrees Celsius.
