Thundershowers forecast for most parts of Thailand

Abundant rains are forecast for most parts of the country with heavy rains in some areas of the North, the Northeast, the East and the South’s west coast.

The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Wednesday (June 17) that the southwest monsoon across the Andaman Sea and Thailand, including the low pressure cell, covers upper Laos and Vietnam. People in risky areas should beware of severe conditions that may cause flash floods. Wind waves 1-2 metres high and above two metres in thundershower areas are expected over the Andaman Sea.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
Northern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees Celsius and highs of 32-35°C.
Northeastern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-26°C and highs of 30-33°C.
Central region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 22-26°C, highs of 32-34°C.
Eastern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-28°C, highs of 30-33°C; waves a metre high and two metres during thundershowers.
Southern region (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-26°C, highs of 30-35°C; waves a metre high and two metres high during thundershowers.
Southern region (west coast): Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25°C, highs of 31-33°C; waves 1-2 metres high and two metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 26-27°C, highs of 32-33°C.
