Cloudy skies with isolated thundershowers forecast for most of the country
The southwest monsoon prevailing across the Andaman Sea and Thailand has weakened, the Thailand Meteorological Department said on Sunday (June 21).
Heavy rains continue in the windward side of the western country including the East, and the Southwest coast. People in those risky areas should beware of the severe condition that may cause flash floods, the department said.
The forecast for different parts of the country:
North: Partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers mostly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Nan, Tak and Kamphaeng Phet provinces; minimum temperature of 24-26 degrees Celsius and maximum 33-36°C; southwesterly winds at 10-25 km/hr.
Northeast: Partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers mostly in Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Ket and Ubon Ratchathani provinces; minimum temperature of 24-26°C and maximum 34-36°C; southwesterly winds at 10-25kph.
Central: Partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers mostly in Uthai Thani,
Nakhon Sawan, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi provinces; minimum temperature 24-26°C and maximum 34-37°C; southwesterly winds at 10-25kph.
East: Very cloudy with scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat provinces; minimum temperature 25-28°C and maximum 33-35°C; southwesterly winds at 15-30kph; waves one metre high and about two metres in thundershower areas.
South (east coast): Cloudy with scattered thundershowers mostly in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani and Yala provinces; minimum temperature 24-26°C and maximum 33-35°C; southwesterly winds at 15-25kph; waves below one metre high and 1-2 metres in thundershowers areas.
South (west coast): Cloudy with scattered thundershowers and isolated heavy rains in Ranong, Phang Nga, Phuket and Krabi provinces; minimum temperature 24-25°C and maximum 32-35°C; southwesterly winds at 15-30kph; waves about a metre high and about two metres in thundershower areas.
Bangkok and metropolitan: Partly cloudy with isolated thundershowers; minimum temperature 24-26°C and maximum 34-37°C; southwesterly winds at 10-30kph.
