BMA to keep hawk’s eye on schools during reopening, advises teachers

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will closely monitor the situation, especially in kindergartens until grade three, when schools nationwide reopen next month.

Bangkok Governor Aswin Kwanmuang said today (June 23) on his Facebook fan page that teachers, students and parents have to adapt themselves to the “new normal” when the new semester kicks off next week.
“You have to wear face masks, maintain social distancing and wash your fingers with soap or alcohol-based sanitisers,” he advised, adding that students of kindergartens or small schools will be urged to attend every day.
Meanwhile, Aswin said, students in grades 4 to 12, or schools with more than 400 students, will be allowed to study in schools and also at home to reduce crowding. Their schedule between offline and online courses may be switched day by day, depending on school specifications, he added.
The BMA has instructed schools to disinfect classrooms, toilets and canteens, and urged operators to see to it that students maintain social distancing in these places.
