More Thai routes open as airlines ease out of lockdown

The Department of Airports is overseeing a steady increase in the number of routes and flights offered by two airlines, while new routes will open after the fourth phase of lockdown easing.

Director general Tawee Gasisam-ang said Thai Lion Air on June 19 increased flights from Bangkok to Nakhon Si Thammarat airport to two per a day.
Flights to Surat Thani Airport have been increased to three flights a day, while the service to Ubon Ratchathani is operating daily.
Thai Lion Air has also opened new routes from Don Mueang, with services to Udon Thani (two flights a day), to Khon Kaen (two flights a day), to Krabi (two flights a day), and to Phitsanulok (one flight a day).
The director general said that Thai Vietjet will operate the following routes from Suvarnabhumi Airport:
Udon Thani, two flights a day, starting from July 1.
Chiang Rai, one flight a day, starting from July 1
Khon Kaen, two flights a day, starting from July 30.
Nakhon Si Thammarat, one flight a day, starting from August 6
Ubon Ratchathani, one flight a day, starting from October 6
Surat Thani, one flight a day, starting from November 4.
He said his department officials had imposed virus-preventive measures on the airlines.
