Two new Covid-19 cases, both in state quarantine

Thailand saw two new confirmed Covid-19 cases without any death over a 24-hour period, Dr Panprapa Yongtrakul, assistant spokeswoman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said today (June 30).

The two latest cases were male masseuses, aged 27 and 28, who returned home from Qatar and were under state quarantine in Chon Buri. Both were asymptomatic.
Meanwhile, three patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the past 24 hours.

As of today, the number of confirmed cases in the country stands at 3,171 (2,444 domestic cases and 234 found in state quarantine). Of these, 57 are under treatment, 3,056 have recovered and been discharged, and 58 have died.

Globally, the number of confirmed cases has shot past 10 million, increasing to 10.4 million, and rising by 159,000 in the past 24 hours. About 500,000 have died. The situation in the US continues to cause alarm, with more than 40,000 new confirmed cases among an overall 2.6 million as of today.
