The government has injected Bt22.4 billion to subsidise local tourism from July to October, following talks between the Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Finance Ministry on discounts for accommodation, restaurants and domestic flights.
The 40-per-cent discounts cover five million accommodation bookings at up to Bt3,000 per night for a maximum of five nights, five million trips to restaurants and tourist attractions and two million flight tickets.
Reservations must be made three days prior to check-in.
