Isolated heavy rain forecast for most of Thailand, including Bangkok
The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Saturday (July 4) that a strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and Thailand while a low-pressure cell covers upper Laos and upper Vietnam.
Isolated heavy rain is forecast for the North, the Northeast, the East, Bangkok and its vicinity, including the South. People in these areas should beware of heavy downpour, the department warned.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
North: Cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-27 degrees Celsius and highs of 32-38°C.
Northeast: Cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-26°C and highs of 30-34°C.
Central: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 25-26°C, highs of 33-36°C.
Eastern region: Cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 24-28°C, highs of 29-34°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 23-26°C, highs of 33-36°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 23-25°C, highs of 30-34°C; waves 1-2 metres high and two metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 26-27°C, highs of 32-36°C.
