Tourism scheme offering discounts on rooms, restaurants and flights opens for registration on July 15

Tourism scheme offering discounts on rooms, restaurants and flights opens for registration on July 15

The government’s tourism stimulus scheme "Rao Tiew Dauy Kan" (We travel together) will open for registration on July 15 with 5 million people eligible for discounts in hotel accommodation and eating in restaurants and 2 million people eligible for partial refund of flight cost.

The scheme is open for Thai nationals aged 18 or older. Registration will be through the website. Registrants will need to use the ‘Pao Tung (Wallet)’ mobile application.
The scheme runs until October 31.
Registration will be open from 6am to 9pm, and people are not bound to claim their privileges in one day. An SMS will be sent to inform those whose registrations are successful.
The discount and refund rights will be available for registered persons until the quota runs out.
Accommodation discount will be available for five nights/one room. Travellers can use this discount in different hotels, under the five nights quota. Those who use the discount for all five rooms at the same hotel will be entitled to only a night's discount.
When the eligible persons receive the SMS, they must book their hotel accommodation through official channels or online travel agencies. The booking result will be shown in the ‘Pao Tung’ online application if the registered people book rooms under the scheme.
The booking notification will inform about the used right and the discounted price that they need to pay through the application. The payment will confirm the usage of the quota under the scheme, and cannot be cancelled.
Room price will be discounted by 40 per cent, or a maximum of Bt3,000.
When the travellers arrive at the accommodation, they are required to check in by Pao Tung to receive a Bt600 e-voucher in the application. This voucher will help them get discounts at restaurants or attractions participating in the scheme.
The Bt600 e-voucher will be added to the application at 5pm on each day the travellers stay in the accommodation. The e-voucher value will expire at 11.59pm on the check-out day, but can be used in every province, except the province they live in (according to their house registration book).
Flight refund will cover a maximum of 40 per cent of ticket price, but not over Bt1,000. Under the conditions, two refunds are tied to one room discount (five rooms can take 10 refunds). The travellers must pay the whole price first before their cash is refunded to their ‘Pao Tung’ later.
