Five more cases found in state quarantine.

There were five new cases of Covid-19 over a 24-hour period, the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration reported on Sunday (July 5), the 41st consecutive day without a domestic case.

The new virus carriers were asymptomatic. Three had returned from India, Japan and the United States and two from Kuwait. They were in quarantine in Bangkok since the end of June and found to be positive on July 2-3.

Meanwhile, five more people have recovered fully and been discharged from hospitals.

The total number of cases in Thailand since the outbreak is 3,190 -- 3,071 patients have recovered and been discharged, 61 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals, while 58 have died.

Globally, there are over 11.3 million patients, more than 58,000 with severe symptoms, while around 6.4 million have been cured and discharged, and more than 533,000 have died.

The three countries with the highest number of cases are: the US (2.9 million cases), Brazil (1.5 million) and Russia (674,000). Thailand was 96th.
