Isolated heavy rain forecast for East, South

Isolated heavy showers are likely in the East and the South, the Meteorological Department forecast today (July 6), as the rather strong southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea and Thailand. People in these areas should beware of heavy rains, it warned.

Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:

North: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees and highs of 32-35 degrees Celsius.

Northeast: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees and highs of 32-35 degrees Celsius.

Central: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 30 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius.

East: Most cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 32-35 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

South (east coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 33-36 degrees Celsius; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.

South (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high and 2 metres during thundershowers.

Bangkok and surrounding areas: Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 20 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 25-26 degrees, highs of 32-36 degrees Celsius.
