Five new Covid-19 cases – all in state quarantine

Thailand saw five new confirmed Covid-19 cases in state quarantine without any deaths in the past 24 hours, Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the government’s Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, reported today (July 6) – the 43rd day without any domestic cases.

All five latest cases are masseuses (four male and one female) who returned home from Kuwait on June 29 and showed no initial symptoms but were later found positive.


Meanwhile, one patient was reported to fully recover and return home.


As of today, the number of confirmed cases in the country stands at 3,195 (2,444 domestic cases and 258 in state quarantine). Of these, 65 are under treatment, 3,072 have recovered and been discharged, and 58 have died.
Globally, the number of confirmed cases has now reached 11.5 million, up by 170,000 in the past 24 hours, with 6.5 million having recovered and 536,000 dying.
