Seven returnees test positive to Covid-19

There are seven confirmed Covid-19 cases in state quarantine without any deaths over a 24-hour period, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported on Tuesday (July 14), the 50th day without a domestic case since May.

The seven infected individuals were Thai nationals, six of whom had returned from Egypt and one from the United States.

One of the earlier patients has reportedly fully recovered and returned home.

As of Tuesday, the total number of confirmed cases in Thailand stood at 3,227, of which 2,444 had been contracted domestically. So far, 78 patients are still under treatment, 3,091 have recovered and 58 have succumbed to the virus.

Globally, the total number of cases stands at 13.2 million, up by 199,000. Of these, 7.6 million have recovered and 575,000 have died so far.
In terms of the number of cases, Thailand ranks 100, while the US tops the list followed by Brazil and India.
