The National Environment Board today approved Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports for several projects, including the Bt36-billion Jira, Nakhon Ratchasima-Ubon Ratchathani double-track rail line, said National Resources and Environmental Policy and Planning secretary-general Raweewan Bhuridej.

Also approved was the EIA to extend Trang airport's runway to 2,900 metres, under the Department of Airports.
Meanwhile the EIA for construction of Nakhon Ratchasima’s outer ring road was given the green light. The board asked the Highways Department to consult related agencies so that road construction did not impact on historical sites.
