Among the 133 cases, 126 were locally transmitted and 55 of them untraceable, said health officials at a daily news briefing in the afternoon.

Two more COVID-19 patients died during the day, taking the city's death toll to 18.

An 84-year-old man diagnosed with the novel coronavirus died at the Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital at 4 am after his condition deteriorated, a spokesman for the hospital said.

Another patient, a 60-year-old man, died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital at around 1 pm, according to the Hospital Authority.

Among the confirmed cases is a student living in a University of Hong Kong hall of residence, said Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the Communicable Disease Branch of the Centre for Health Protection, at a press briefing. One of the affected student's roommates tested preliminary positive for the virus, while another with symptoms is pending testing.

“For the University of Hong Kong residential hall, because they are living on the same floor, they share bathrooms and toilets, there are around 10 to 20 students there, so we plan to put them under quarantine,” Chuang said.
