Worries over unemployment, pregnant wife drive man to commit suicide

A Buri Ram resident was found hanging from a power cable on Sunday (July 26), with is eight-month-pregnant wife saying her husband may have committed suicide because he has not been able to find a job for three months.

Officers from the Chaloem Phra Kiat Police Station, who arrived with medical and rescue officials, surmised the man had been dead for four hours. He was not wearing a shirt and there were no injuries on his body. The man’s name has not been released.
His wife Samran said her husband, who worked as a welder in Samut Prakan province and had returned home after losing his job due to the Covid-19 crisis, may have killed himself because he was not able to provide for household.
