Two returnees from US test positive for Covid-19

Two new Covid-19 cases were confirmed in state quarantine on Tuesday (July 28), while there were no deaths over the 24-hour period, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported.

Tuesday is the 64th day without a domestic case since May.

The two newest patients are returnees from the United States.

As of Tuesday, the total number of confirmed cases in the country stood at 3,297 (360 tested positive in state quarantine), of whom 128 are being treated, 3,111 have recovered and 58 have succumbed.

Globally, the total number of confirmed cases has gone beyond 16.6 million, up by 229,000 with 10.2 million patients recovered and 652,000 dead.

Thailand is ranked as the 106th country with the most cases, while the US still tops the list with 4.4 million Covid-19 cases, followed by Brazil at 2.4 million and India 1.4 million.
