Top brass to clarify decision to drop charges against Vorayuth on Wednesday

The deputy national police chief and deputy attorney general will clarify the public prosecutors’ decision to drop all charges against Vorayuth Yoovidhya for an alleged fatal hit-and-run case before the House committee on law, justice and human rights on Wednesday (July 29).

The committee’s chairman, Palang Pracharath MP Sira Jenjaka, said on Tuesday that both deputies have confirmed that they will show up to provide their testimonies. He added that members of the press have been invited to attend the session, which will also be publicly broadcast.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Attorney-General (OAG)’s deputy spokesperson Prayut Petchkhun said OAG’s working panel tasked with examining the dismissal of charges should complete its task within seven days.
Vorayuth, the scion of one of Thailand’s richest families, faced charges for an accident eight years ago that took a police officer’s life.
