All overseas troop training programmes to be suspended for now: Army

General Nattapon Srisawat, a special adviser to the Royal Thai Army, said on Wednesday (July 19) that the Army has suspended all overseas training programmes, after nine of 151 soldiers returning from the Lightning Forge 2020 training programme in Hawaii tested positive for Covid-19.

He added that all returning soldiers are having to undergo the 14-day quarantine as required.
There is also a high chance that the training and examination planned at the US Joint Readiness Training Centre and Fort Polk in September and October will be cancelled.
The Army is also looking into whether it will send troops to UN missions, such as the one in Sudan.
