As of 9.26am, the buying price of a gold bar was Bt29,000 per baht weight and selling price Bt29,100, while gold ornaments cost Bt28,470.48 and Bt29,600, respectively. 
Spot gold price rose by US$19.6, to $1,973 (Bt61,597) per ounce from Friday’s close, as the metal was a safe haven asset amid investors’ concerns about the Covid-19 situation. 
Hong Kong gold price rose by HK$10, opening at $18,270 (Bt73584.66) per tael this morning.

Gold remains firm amid demand as safe haven asset

The price of gold was unchanged in morning trade on Monday (August 3) compared to the closing price on Saturday, the Gold Traders Association reported.
