Continuous showers forecast for most of Thailand with heavy rain in some areas

The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Friday (August 7) that the monsoon trough lies across the upper North and the upper Northeast to the low-pressure cell over the South China Sea, while the southwest monsoon across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand is intensifying.

Continuous rain is forecast all over the country with heavy rain in some areas of the North, the Northeast and the East. People should beware of weather conditions, the department said.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
North: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; minimum temperature 24-26 degrees Celsius and maximum 32-35°C.
Northeast: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; minimum temperature 24-25°C and maximum 31-34°C.
Central: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; minimum temperature 23-26°C, maximum 32-35°C.
East: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; minimum temperature 24-27°C, maximum 30-34°C; waves 1-2 metres high and over two metres during thundershowers.
South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; minimum temperature 24-26°C, maximum 31-34°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; minimum temperature 24-26°C, maximum 31-34°C; waves 1-2 metres high and over two metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; minimum temperature 25-26°C, maximum 32-34°C.
