Thai schools, unis fully reopen after 5 months of lockdown

Schools and universities across the country finally opened their doors to all students today (August 13), five months after they were closed to combat Covid-19 on March 18. The Education Ministry had previously allowed education institutes to open partially on July 1, but student numbers were limited to prevent crowding.

This morning, Rojanawit School in Phitsanulok province opened under strict disease-control measures.

Students were told to wear face masks and file through screening points provided by the school.
Teachers at the school gate took students’ temperatures and scanned their QR codes via smartphones to collect information for the school’s database.
