Isolated heavy rains forecast for most parts of Thailand

The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Saturday (August 15) that a moderate southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand while the southeasterly wind prevails over the lower Northeast, the East and the Gulf.

Isolated heavy rains continue in the windward side of the North, the Northeast, the East and the South including Bangkok and its vicinity. People should beware of the severe conditions.


The weather forecast for the next 24 hours is as follows:
North: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 24-25 degrees Celsius and highs of 30-33°C.
Northeast: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-24°C and highs of 30-31°C.
Central: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-25°C, highs of 31-34°C.
East: Cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-27°C, highs of 30-34°C; waves 1-2 metres high and two metres during thundershowers.
South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 23-25°C, highs of 30-34°C; waves a metre high and two metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 23-25°C, highs of 31-33°C; waves 1-2 metres high and two metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 70 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rains; temperature lows of 25-27°C, highs of 31-33°C.
