House panel wants to open space for students to express political opinion

A House of Representatives panel aims to create arrangements that would allow students to talk about politics in their institutions.

The Extraordinary Commission said it planned to contact the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, to discuss the matter.
Korawee Prissananantakul, the spokesperson of the Extraordinary Commission under the House of Representatives, said that the panel aimed to discuss allowing students to talk safely on political matters in government places, such as schools or universities.
Discussions will be held between the commission, the minister of Education, and the minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
Korawee said that the commission did not want the students to hold political events in public spaces if they were prohibited by their educational institutions.
He added that the Extraordinary Commission wanted the leaders of each political group to talk about their concerns, and it has contacted each group for this mission.
