People mystified over suicide at Nakhon Si Thammarat hospital
Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital in Meuang district has sparked public doubt as no official statement has been released yet over the death of a patient who appeared to have jumped to his death from the 5-storey hospital building yesterday (August 18).
The incident happened at around 10am. Rescue staff were then called in to collect the body in front of the M5W building. They were reportedly not given the deceased’s name or other information and were even prohibited by the hospital from taking any photos.
Reporters from local news channel Mee Dee TV, however, said the deceased man is a Nakhon Si Thammarat local named Anuchit (last name withheld), aged 55, who was earlier sent to Maharaj Hospital from Phromkhiri Hospital in Phromkhiri district.
Reporters also asked Nakhon Si Thammarat police chief Pol Colonel Monthian Baothong about the incident, but he said he had not received any report yet. He has ordered Meuang Police Station officers to investigate the incident and find out exactly why the man committed suicide.
