Malaysian Covid-19 patient did not infect anyone here: DDC

The Department of Disease Control (DDC) said on Wednesday (August 19) that no infections were found among the people who had come in contact with the Malaysian man, who reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 after leaving Thailand.

Dr Suwanchai Wattanayingcharoenchai, DDC director general, said his department along with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration had been ordered to find and test those who had come in contact with the Malaysian
So far, samples taken from 10 persons have been sent for the Reverse Transcription PCR test and they have all come out negative.
A 36-year-old woman who lives in Chiang Mai and is the Malaysian man’s friend also tested negative for Covid-19.
Suwanchai said it is clear the Malaysian man did not infect anyone he may have been in contact with in Thailand, though there is no obvious evidence that he was infected after leaving Thailand. 
The Public Health Ministry is in touch with Malaysia for further information.
