Arnon arrested as he accompanies three others to acknowledge charges
Four political activists, namely human-rights lawyer Arnon Nampa, Suwanna Tanlek, Parit Chiwarak and Piyarat Jongthep, visited the Nang Loeng Police Station in Bangkok on Tuesday (August 25) to acknowledge charges related to their protest outside Army headquarters on July 20.
They were accused of violating the Emergency Decree, Road Traffic Act and Controlling Public Advertisement by Sound Amplifier Act.
Arnon, meanwhile, was presented with an arrest warrant for violating bail conditions and delivering speeches at a protest in Thammasat University’s Rangsit campus on August 10.
The lawyer was escorted to Pathum Thani’s Khlong Luang station under maximum security.
