Japanese man jumps to his death in Songkhla

A Japanese man reportedly jumped to his death from a bridge in Songkhla province on Tuesday (September 1) due to depression. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Bang Klam Police Station was notified of the incident at about 10am and showed up to find the body of Kazuharu Ito, 67, under the bridge with a fractured skull. There was no evidence of force or assault on his body.
Initial investigation revealed that Ito lived with his Thai wife and two children in the Ban Bang Yi neighbourhood. His wife told police her husband suffered from depression and had told her to take care of their children yesterday.
His body has been sent to Hat Yai Hospital for an autopsy. Since it is believed to be a suicide, his family will wait for the body to be released for last rites.
