Japanese man found positive in alternative state quarantine

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration today (September 9) reported one case in alternative state quarantine over a 24-hour period.

The latest case is 38-year-old Japanese man, who arrived in Thailand on September 4 and stayed in an alternative state quarantine hotel in Bangkok. He was found positive on September 7.

Meanwhile, two patients have recovered and been discharged.

As of today, the number of confirmed cases in Thailand stands at 3,447 (509 in state quarantine). Of these, 103 are in hospital, 3,286 have recovered and been discharged and 58 have died.

According to Worldometer, as of 10am today the number of confirmed cases globally has increased to 27.7 million. Of these, 19.8 million have recovered, 60,444 are in severe condition and 901,833 have died.

Thailand ranks a safe 122nd for most Covid-19 cases in the world. The US has the most number, with 6.51 million, followed by India (4.36 million), Brazil (4.16 million), Russia (1.03 million) and Peru (696,190).
