Red-flag express boats start plying Chao Phraya

The Marine Department launched the new airconditioned red-flag Chao Phraya express boat service on Thursday (September 11) after completing extensive tests to ensure they were ready for public service.

The double-decker boats can run at a speed of 14 knots and carry 202 passengers per trip.

Fares until the end of this year have been set at Bt30 per trip and will be increased to Bt50 next year. Passengers can also use their Rabbit card.
These express boats run between Nonthaburi pier and Sathorn pier from 6.50am to 6.30am daily.

Ten piers, namely Nonthaburi, Bang Pho, Rama VII, Kiakkai, Thewet, Prannok, Rajinee, Ratchawong, Icon Siam and Sathorn, will be serviced during rush hour (6.50am to 8.10am and 5pm to 7pm).

Meanwhile, eight piers, namely Sathorn, Icon Siam, Ratchawong, Rajinee, Prannok, Thewet and Bang Pho, will be serviced during off-peak hours (9.40am to 4.20pm).
