Heavy rains forecast for upper Thailand
The Thailand Meteorological Department said on Monday (September 21) that the monsoon trough lies across the North and the upper Northeast with a low pressure cell in the Gulf of Tonkin, while a moderate southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf. Isolated heavy rains continue in the North, the Northeast and the East.
People in risky areas should beware of severe rains. Moderate wind waves are likely in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, about two metres high in the Andaman Sea and above two metres high during thundershowers. All ships hace been advised to sail with caution in thundershowers.

North: Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain; minimum temperature 22-25 degrees Celsius, maximum 30-33 °C; southwesterly winds 10-25kph.
Northeast: Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain; minimum temperature 23-25°C, maximum 29-33°C; southwesterly winds 10-25kph.
Central: Cloudy with scattered thundershowers; minimum temperature 23-26°C, maximum 30-35°C; southwesterly winds 10-25kph.
East: Very cloudy with fairly widespread thundershowers and isolated heavy rain; minimum temperature 22-26°C, maximum 28-35°C; southwesterly winds 15-35kph; waves 1-2 metres high and about two metres in thundershowers.
South (east coast): Cloudy with scattered thundershowers; minimum temperature 23-25°C, maximum 31-34°C; southwesterly winds 15-30kph; waves about a metre and 1-2 metres in thundershowers.
South (west coast): Cloudy with scattered thundershowers; minimum temperature 23-24°C, maximum 31-34°C; southwesterly winds 20-35kph; waves about two metres high and above two metres in thundershowers.
