Continuous rainfall forecast for most parts of country

Continuous showers will fall over the country, with isolated heavy rain in the North, the Northeast and the East, the Meteorological Department said on Thursday, as a monsoon trough lies across the lower North, the upper Central region and the Northeast, while the moderate southwest monsoon prevails across the Andaman Sea, Thailand and the Gulf.

The department warned people in risky areas to beware of severe conditions and advised all ships to proceed with caution and keep away from areas experiencing thundershowers.


Here’s the weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
North: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 24-25 degrees and highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius.
Northeast: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees and highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius.
Central: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-25 degrees, highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius.
East: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the areas and isolated heavy rain; temperature lows of 24-26 degrees, highs of 32-34 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high and over 2 metres during thundershowers.
South (east coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-26 degrees, highs of 33-34 degrees Celsius; waves 1-2 metres high and over 2 metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 40 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 23-24 degrees, highs of 31-34 degrees Celsius; waves 2 metres high and over 2 metres during thundershowers.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Mostly cloudy with thundershowers in 60 per cent of the area; temperature lows of 25-26 degrees, highs of 33-35 degrees Celsius.
