Four Bangkok schools close for a day over political protest
Four Bangkok schools – Satriwithaya, Benjamarachalai, Suankularb Wittayalai and Wat Rajabopit – were closed on Wednesday for safety reasons amid a planned political rally by student-led protesters in the area.
Earlier, protest leaders had announced they would hold their biggest yet political rally on Wednesday at Democracy Monument before moving to Government House and camping there overnight.
To ensure the safety of students and parents, the four schools in the area announced they would close for a day.
Satriwithaya and Suankularb Wittayalai schools are running online learning courses on Wednesday.
