Two foreigners among four found positive

The Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration on Thursday reported four new cases in quarantine over a 24-hour period.

The latest cases are:
> A 24-year-old Thai female student, who travelled back from Japan on October 21. She had a cough and was found positive in state quarantine in Bangkok on October 24.
> Two Kuwaitis – a 19-year-old male student and a 67-year-old woman – who arrived on October 24 and 25, respectively. The woman had arrived in Bangkok for treatment of an unspecified disease, while the student came with another person, who entered Nonthaburi hospital quarantine.
> A 40-year-old masseuse, who returned from the United Arab Emirates on October 23 and was found positive at a Suvarnabhumi Airport screening checkpoint. However, the result was not clear at the time. The result was confirmed three days later, when she developed a headache and cough.
Meanwhile, nine patients have recovered and been discharged.
As of Thursday, the number of confirmed cases in Thailand has increased to 3,763 (815 in state quarantine). Of these, 134 are in hospital and 3,561 have recovered and been discharged. The death toll remains unchanged at 59.
According to Worldometer, as of 10am the number of confirmed global cases has increased to 44.74 million (rising by 504,419 in 24 hours). Of these, 32.7 million have recovered, 10.86 million are active cases (with 81,184 in severe condition) and 1.17 million have died (an increase of 7,099).
Thailand ranks a safe 147th for most cases in the world.
The US has the most number, with 9.1 million, followed by India (8 million), Brazil (5.46 million), Russia (1.56 million) and France (1.23 million).
