People in upper Thailand should beware of poor visibility, the department said. Mountaintops are still cold to very cold with frost in some places.
Meanwhile, a weak northeast monsoon prevails over the Gulf and the South.
The weather forecast for the next 24 hours:
North: Cool to cold weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 12-15 degrees Celsius and highs of 30-33°C; temperature on hilltops is likely to drop to 3-12°C with frost in some areas.
Northeast: Cool to cold weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 12-19°C, highs of 30-33°C; temperature on hilltops is likely to drop to 5-11°C.
Central: Cool weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 16-18°C, highs of 32-33°C.
East: Cool weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 18-22°C, highs of 30-33°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres offshore.
South (east coast): Cool weather with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 19-24°C, highs of 30-32°C; waves 1-2 metres high and 2 metres during thundershowers.
South (west coast): Partly cloudy with thundershowers in 10 per cent of the areas; temperature lows of 22-24°C, highs of 31-34°C; waves a metre high and 1-2 metres offshore.
Bangkok and surrounding areas: Cool weather with fog in the morning and thick fog in some areas; temperature lows of 19-20°C, highs of 32-33°C.
