Three Bangkok establishments shuttered for violation of Covid-19 measures

Three venues in Bangkok were temporarily closed due to violation of measures to contain the spread of Covid-19.

Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) deputy governor Pol Lt-General Sophon Phisutthiwong said on Saturday that the move was in response to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration asking for an inspection of pubs, bars, restaurants and karaoke booths to ensure the venues were implementing Covid-19 preventive measures.

The three venues are:

- Taj Cafe, Soi Sukhumvit 3 (Nana Nua), Wattana district: The cafe was closed for 14 days from January 17 to 30 due to the violation of measures regarding curfew hours, number of customers inside the venue, and the implemention of preventive measures.

- Insannity, Soi Sukhumvit 11 (Chaiyot), Wattana district: The pub was closed for five years and its food vendor licence was revoked due to the violation of curfew hours, the number of customers inside the venue, the lack of implemention of preventive measures and distribution and consumption of alcoholic drinks.

- Raan Nung Tor, Suwinthawong Road, Minburi district: The restaurant was closed for 14 days from January 25 to February 7 due to the violation of measures regarding distribution and consumption of alcoholic drinks.
