Rajadamri School shifts classes home over threat messages

Rajadamri School in Bangkok’s Prawet district will move all secondary students to home-based learning for two days after messages threatening violence at the school circulated via LINE OpenChat.

School director Nipaporn Binsan issued the notice on Wednesday (August 26), announcing that on-site classes would be replaced by home-based hybrid learning on Thursday and Friday.

The school said the messages had caused concern among students and parents. The temporary change was introduced as a safety measure and to avoid disrupting the number of instructional hours required under the curriculum.

The notice cited Clauses 9 and 11(2) of the Education Ministry’s 2006 regulations governing the opening and closure of educational institutions, as amended in 2015. The provisions authorise special closures when necessary.

Students in Mathayom 1–6 must follow their usual timetables from home through one of four learning formats: online, on-air, on-demand or on-hand.

Those unable to participate must inform their class adviser and subject teachers, either as personal leave or sick leave, and complete the assigned work later.

Teachers will conduct hybrid lessons from the school, with individual subject teachers determining the most suitable format. They must also submit reports on online instruction under the school’s educational media and innovation procedures.

Teachers and educational staff are required to record their attendance through the D-School system and report to the school as usual on both days.

Normal on-site classes are scheduled to resume on Monday (August 31).
