Suvarnabhumi ranks eighth in ACI regional air connectivity index

Suvarnabhumi Airport ranked eighth among the 10 most connected airports across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East in 2025, according to the 2026 ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Air Connectivity Index.
The index, compiled by Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID), assesses airport connectivity from the perspective and experience of passengers.
Its analysis covers the scale and frequency of airline networks, the economic importance of destinations, and the quality and efficiency of flight connections.
Other factors include aircraft types, domestic and international travel patterns, the number of stops involved in a journey and airline alliance membership.
The index found that air connectivity across Asia-Pacific and the Middle East increased by an average of 11% in 2025 compared with the previous year.
Connectivity in the Middle East grew by 21%, while Asia-Pacific recorded growth of 10%, reflecting continued expansion of airline networks and the recovery of air travel across the regions.
The trend has strengthened the role of airports, including Suvarnabhumi Airport, in linking cities and countries.
Paweena Jariyathitipong, president of Airports of Thailand Plc (AOT), said that the company, which manages six airports in Thailand, was focusing on airport development and management to strengthen air connectivity and accommodate long-term growth in travel.
Its priorities include making the most effective use of existing infrastructure capacity, improving operational reliability and enhancing the passenger travel experience.
AOT is also increasing the use of technology to improve service efficiency, with the aim of supporting continued growth in air connectivity while delivering sustainable benefits for passengers and the economy.
