Ratchaburi warned of flash floods and landslides in three districts

DDPM warns Pak Tho, Ban Kha and Suan Phueng of heavy rain, flash floods and landslides as flooding affects over 905,000 households nationwide.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has warned residents in three districts of Ratchaburi to prepare for flash floods, forest run-off, landslides and overflowing waterways as heavy rain continues.

The warning, issued on October 14, covers Pak Tho, Ban Kha and Suan Phueng districts as well as nearby areas.

Residents in low-lying communities along rivers and canals and those living near foothills have been advised to remain particularly vigilant as further rainfall could cause water levels to rise rapidly.

DDPM urged residents to help vulnerable people, move belongings and vehicles to higher ground, secure valuables and important documents, and remain alert to the risk of electric shock in flooded areas.

Those requiring assistance can contact district or local authorities, community leaders or the DDPM hotline on 1784.

DDPM, working with mobile network operators AIS, True and National Telecom (NT), sent Cell Broadcast alerts to people in Pak Tho, Ban Kha and Suan Phueng warning them of the heavy rain and associated flood risks.

The department said residents should continue monitoring official warnings and be ready to act if conditions deteriorate.
