Thailand faces flash-flood risks from isolated heavy rain in the North, western Central region, East and South during October 15–16.

  • The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecasts thundershowers will cover 60% of Bangkok and its surrounding areas from 6 am on October 15 to 6 am on October 16.
  • The rain is attributed to a high-pressure system from China that is driving moist easterly and southeasterly winds from the South China Sea over Thailand.
  • The 60% thundershower coverage is not limited to Bangkok, as the same forecast applies to Thailand's Central region, the East, and the South's east coast during the same period.
