Flooding remained ongoing in 16 provinces and Bangkok on 23 October 2026, affecting 375,726 households and 1,131,401 people, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM).

The DDPM’s 6am update reported falling water levels in every listed area, although residents continued to face flooding. Fatalities listed in the provincial and Bangkok breakdown totalled 64.

Nirat Pongsitthithaworn, director-general of the DDPM, attributed the flooding to heavy to very heavy rainfall, compounded by water flowing south from the North and adding to water already accumulated in the Central region.

The provincial breakdown covered 60 districts, 432 subdistricts and 2,988 villages. Bangkok’s affected areas comprised a further two districts and 14 subdistricts.

The DDPM has mobilised disaster-response machinery and equipment to assist residents, while directing local offices to accelerate damage assessments and recovery where conditions are improving.
