Thailand sweep Indonesia to lead Asian Championship Pool B
Thailand defeated Indonesia 25-16, 25-18, 25-15 for a second straight-set victory and will face Kazakhstan on August 25.
Thailand maintained their perfect start to the 2026 AVC Women’s Volleyball Continental Championship with a straight-set victory over Indonesia in their second Pool B match in Tianjin, China.
The Thai women delivered an aggressive attacking performance to win 25-16, 25-18 and 25-15, collecting the full three points without dropping a set.
Thailand have now won both of their opening matches and lead Pool B. They also share the best overall record with Japan, with both sides having six points and a 6-0 set record.
Thailand seek quick victory ahead of early match
Ajcharaporn Kongyot said Thailand had tried to complete the match as quickly as possible to conserve energy before facing Kazakhstan on Tuesday morning.
“The team did quite well today,” Ajcharaporn said. “We tried to finish the match as quickly as possible to conserve our energy because we have an early match tomorrow. Everyone performed their role extremely well.”
Sasipapron Janthawisut finished as the match’s leading scorer with 16 points, although she said she was not entirely satisfied with her individual performance.
“I am still not completely satisfied with my performance. There were some inconsistencies, but the team did well overall,” she said.
“We made fewer errors and are mainly focused on continuing to improve our own game.”
Thailand head coach Kiattipong Radchatagriengkai said the team had followed its game plan, although several details still required improvement.
He described Kazakhstan as a strong opponent and warned that Thailand would have to concentrate on every point in their final pool match.
