Khao Yai ranked first for growth in domestic destination interest among Traveloka users in Thailand in the third quarter of 2026, according to the company’s Southeast Asia (SEA) Index. Searches for accommodation and travel to Koh Chang also increased by more than 40% compared with the same period last year.
Traveloka’s index draws on activity on its platform across Southeast Asia to identify destinations gaining interest in individual source markets. The findings describe platform trends rather than Thailand’s tourism market as a whole, and the rankings measure growth in interest rather than total visitor numbers.
Traveloka’s third-quarter ranking of domestic destinations gaining interest fastest in the Thai market placed nature, coastal holidays and local experiences among the leading choices:
1. Khao Yai
2. Pattaya
3. Si Racha
4. Nakhon Ratchasima
5. Sakon Nakhon
Traveloka highlighted Khao Yai’s natural attractions and national park, while Pattaya and Si Racha offered coastal options. Nakhon Ratchasima and Sakon Nakhon added destinations with distinctive local experiences, broadening the choice for travellers interested in nature, seaside breaks and culture.
“Thailand’s appeal lies in the variety of experiences travellers can discover at each destination, from beautiful landscapes and coastlines to cultural heritage and distinctive local communities,” said Thipaporn Daungmak, Traveloka’s country manager for Thailand and Singapore.
Thipaporn said growing interest in these destinations presented an opportunity to encourage travellers to discover different aspects of Thailand. Traveloka aimed to make destination searches and trip planning easier, helping travellers access a wider range of local experiences throughout the country.
Koh Chang featured in the SEA Index’s “Next Destination” category after searches from the Thai market increased by more than 40% year on year in the third quarter of 2026.
Traveloka described the increase as a sign of growing interest in island holidays. Koh Chang complemented the domestic growth ranking by offering another option for travellers looking for seaside relaxation and an island setting.
A separate analysis of Traveloka’s Thai-market platform data, outside the SEA Index findings, showed accommodation searches for Nakhon Phanom rising by approximately 50% in the third quarter of 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier.
Traveloka highlighted Nakhon Phanom’s position beside the Mekong River and its sacred landmarks as attractions for travellers exploring northeastern Thailand’s cultural heritage and local way of life.
Accommodation searches for Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Nakhon Si Thammarat also increased on Traveloka. The company linked the interest to destinations known for historic temples, ancient sites and Buddhist heritage.
Traveloka’s regional SEA Index also identified growth in journeys associated with faith and cultural heritage. Accommodation bookings from Indonesia to Mecca increased by more than 50% year on year in the third quarter of 2026.
Bookings from Vietnam to Luang Prabang more than doubled over the same period, although from a smaller base. Traveloka presented the figures as examples of faith and heritage travel involving distinct source markets and destinations.
