The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a nationwide domestic aviation campaign aimed at lowering travel costs and encouraging residents to explore the country.

Titled "Fly Across Thailand, Heal Your Soul Every Trip", the initiative offers travellers a THB 500 ($15) discount per domestic flight segment across seven participating carriers.

Reporting for Thansettakij, Thanawan Winaisathien detailed that TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool confirmed the scheme's immediate success. Within days of launching, redemption numbers reached 46,780 seats—representing over 47 per cent of the total 99,000 discounted allocations available.

"The response has been exceptionally encouraging," said Thapanee. "It clearly demonstrates that when we make travel more accessible, residents are eager to explore their own country and support local businesses."

Economic Stimulus and Community Impact

The campaign forms part of a broader strategy by Thai tourism authorities to sustain domestic travel demand ahead of the peak winter holiday season. In total, individual passengers can claim up to THB 1,000 ($30) in savings for round-trip journeys.

Beyond boosting airline capacity utilisation, the government agency expects the subsidy drive to generate at least THB 300 million ($9 million) in circulating revenue across regional supply chains.

Officials emphasise that driving visitor expenditure directly into local communities, accommodation providers, and small businesses remains a primary objective.

"Every journey creates tangible value," Thapanee added. "Our focus is ensuring that travel distribution extends well beyond primary hubs, dispersing revenue directly to regional entrepreneurs and local communities."

Industry-Wide Airline Participation

Seven major carriers operating in the country have partnered with TAT to support the initiative:

Thai Airways

Thai AirAsia

Thai VietJet Air

Bangkok Airways

Nok Air

Thai Lion Air

Ezy Airlines

The broad participation across both full-service and low-cost operators ensures comprehensive coverage across major tourism corridors as well as secondary provincial routes.
