Fewer property projects launched in October

A number of 23 property development projects were launched in October, with a combined number of 3,087 units worth totally Bt11.71 billion, according to Agency for Real Estate Affairs.

 
 
 Of total, 1,200 units or 39 per cent are single detached houses, 754 units or 24 per cent are townhouses, and 567 units or 18 per cent are condominium units.
 Sopon Pornchokchai, executive chairman of the company's research and appraisal centre, said that without floods, the number of launched projects should have been higher. It is 2 projects less from the previous month.
 "Most of the single houses come with the price tag of Bt3-Bt5 million," he said, adding that projects on the west of Chao Phraya River may be delayed further.
 During the first 10 months, 319 projects were launched with 71,727 units, representing a drop by 12 per cent and 26 per cent, respectively from the same period last year. Of total, 32,888 units (46 per cent) are condominium, 19,217 units (27 per cent) are townhouses and 15,241 units (21 per cent) are single houses.
 The combined value of these projects is Bt215.16 billion, down 13 per cent on year. However, the average housing unit price increased 17 per cent on year to Bt2.999 million.
