Four phone operators launch collaborative WiFi campaign

Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery have joined up with four telecom giants in launching a mobile data service through the Wifi network, which covers all the three shopping centres in the heart of Bangkok.

For the first time in Thailand, the campaign won the collaboration of all four telecom giants - Advanced Info Service, Total Access Communication, TOT and True Move.
Using the latest technology, the Wifi service allows customers to stay constantly online and keep abreast with their favourite social networks in any formats. The service is specially designed to respond to the lifestyles of trendsetters as well as businessmen, shoppers and tourists to stay connected always, anywhere and anytime.
The wireless system has been integrated throughout the three shopping centres to meet the needs of the more than 150,000 visitors who enter the premises daily. The network works in integration with the existing mobile data networks of the four mobile operators in these buildings, so users can enjoy their smart phones, tablets, notebooks or any WiFi-enabled devices to access the internet as well as all information and entertainment embedded in Siam Paragon, Siam Center and Siam Discovery.
According to Mark Chong Chin Kok, chief operating officer of AIS, data users have increased to more than 8 million. AIS offers WiFi at a maximum speed of 100Mbps to customers using the WiFi package at no extra cost. The company has also launched an unlimited WiFi package for Bt99 per month.
TrueMove H has more than 500 connection spots in the three centres.
