Free tickets for Rattakosin
The Crown Property Bureau celebrates the festive season by giving away tickets to the Rattakosin Exhibition currently on view at the Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall on Rajdamnoen Road.
However, there’s a catch: only those in January are entitled to the free tickets, which get them into the show anytime between January 3 and 31. The Hall currently hosts two major exhibitions about Rattanakosin, or Bangkok: “The Colourful Thai Way of Living” and “The Heart and Soul of the Nation”.
“The Colourful Thai Way of Living” explores the development of the Thai way of life throughout the Bangkok period. Visitors will learn from multi-touch screens, educational games and interactive light and sound performances.
“The Heart and Soul of the Nation” gathers stories and the royal activities of the nine Kings in the Chakri Dynasty since the beginning of the Bangkok period.
The Rattanakosin Exhibition Hall consists of seven rooms - Grandeur Rattanakosin Room, Prestige of the Kingdom Room, Remarkable Entertainment Room, Renowned Ceremonies Room, Graceful Architectures, Impressive Communities and Sightseeing Highlights. Together, they tell the story of Rattanakosin from the birth of the Royal Palace, temples and other monuments to the development of traditional Thai performance and royal ceremonies.
